The New Piano Quartet is a dynamic chamber ensemble based in the Boston area. Since its inception in 2002, the New Piano Quartet has given performances throughout New England, and in 2003 the quartet was designated Ensemble in Residence at the New School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where its members serve on the faculty. In addition to performing the standard piano quartet repertoire, the New Piano Quartet seeks to present audiences with less frequently performed works by female and contemporary composers. In 2005, the group gave the American premiere of the Piano Quartet by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks. As individual artists, all four musicians perform regularly in chamber and orchestral ensembles throughout the region.
