Pianist Esther Ning Yau is a native of Hong Kong and an avid chamber musician. She has appeared in solo and chamber recitals at the Museum of Arts (Puerto Rico),Jordan Hall (Boston), Merkin Concert Hall (NY), Kosciuszko Foundation (NY), the Taipei National Concert Hall (Taiwan) and the Hong Kong Government House. As a founding member of the New Piano Quartet, the Innonet Trio, and Duo Anime, Ms. Yau has performed in New England on the Harvard Epworth Church Concert Series, WCRB Live at Copley, First Night Boston, the Newport Symposium Chamber Music Concert (RI) and the Bar Harbor Music Festival (ME). A recipient of many awards, Ms. Yau has received fellowships from the International Institute of Vocal Arts in Italy, the Aspen Music Festival (CO), Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara (CA), Yellow Barn Music Festival (VT) and UCLA Song Festival (CA). Ms Yau holds double Master's degrees in Piano Performance and Piano Accompanying from New England Conservatory of Music where she studiedwith Patricia Zander and Irma Vallecillo. She is currently on the piano faculty at both the Longy School of Music and the New School of Music in Cambridge, and is staff accompanist at the Boston Conservatory. In the summer, Ms. Yau is on the accompanying staff at the Meadowmount School of Music in New York. She has served on the board of Trustees at the New School of Music and is a member of the New England Conservatory Alumni Council.
